Ursen

URSEN

Found in the northern continent within the empire of Uwa ’te, or the “Hand of the Mother” when translated. Their goal is a sacred one given to them by Uwa, mother earth, a Chaos Lord that turned on her family and chose her world and life on it has her purpose and melded with the land. Or so the legend goes when told to the young Ursen. One’s actions determine their worth in the world, not the actions of whom you belong to, however, their will come a time when you must choose to nurture or destroy as Uwa chose.

Choose wisely.

The goal of the Ursen is to be the memory of the world so no one forgets and people can learn from everyone. Their native tongue which uses ideograms for written characters. So their written language is idea based not word based and many people will read different meanings into the same message. The Ursen elders say this is the way people perceive nature and therefore this is the way all should communicate. Ursen are not “monsters”, and are not the “baby eaters” or “barbarians” that many humans believed them to be once upon a time. However, and angry Ursen is a sight to behold with fear and trepidation. Some of the younger Ursen have found traveling to be of great interest and have found employ in the Galvan Republic, Vilgard Federation, Kingdom of Greenwater, even Daedala.

While they are not adverse to wearing metal armors of the southern empires they prefer to wear armors made from nature and the Elves of the Kingdom of Greenwater have made quite the trade partner for enchanted wood and leaf armors.

RACIAL ATTRIBUTES NOTES
Alignment: Any, but mostly scrupulous through anarchist.
P.C. Attributes: The number of six-sided dice to be rolled is as designated. I.Q. 3D6, M.E. 3D6, M.A. 2D6, P.S. 4D6+6, P.P. 2D6+3, P.E. 4D6 ,P.B. 3D6, Spd 3D6
Hit Points: P.E. + 1D6 per level of experience.
S.D.C.: 1D4 X 10, plus those gained from O.C.C.s and physical skills.
Natural A.R.: 8
Horror Factor 12, 14 when they roar!
P.P.E.: 3D6
O.C.C.s available to Ursen: Any men at arms but tend to be rangers, mercenaries, longbowmen. Their are a large numbers of Druids and Animal Shamans among them, not to mention warlocks! A man of magic that comes from study rather than communing with nature would be very atypical of the Ursen and they would have a hard time being trusted by their own people.
Natural Abilities: Nightvision 20ft(12.2m), below average day vision (360ft / 109.8m) and a keen sense of hearing and sense of smell.
Track by Smell: 30% + 5% per level (if blood is involved please add a + 5% bonus).
Recognize Scent of Others: The character can recognize and follow a familiar scent up to 60 feet (18m) away. Base Skill: 25% + 5% per level of experience; + 10% to recognize and follow the scent of a mate or offspring. Roll once for every 100 feet (30.5m) when following a scent trail. A failed roll means the trail is lost.
Keen Hearing: The character’s hearing is as keen as a dog’s and has the same range of hearing.
Bonuses: + 1 on initiative, + 1 to save vs horror factor at levels 1, 3, 5, 8, 11, 14.
Damage: Claws do 2D6 plus P.S. bonus, power punch 4D6 plus P.S. bonus (but counts as two attacks), bite does 2D4 damage, head butt 1D6 damage, or by weapon (usually large).
Magic: By O.C.C. only
Psionics: Standard; same as humans +10% to the success of there role. If the PC is psychic they gain Genetic Memory back to their race’s creation. Chance of recalling a single memory 7% per level. May only be attempted in meditation for 1 hour or 25% chance of happening randomly while they sleep.
Habitat: Tribal villages, small scouting parties on the northern continent of Regnum. They are occasionally found among the other empires of Regnum, however, those that are tend to be solitary and young.
Average Life Span: 75 years

Enemies: Those that would harm nature without regard.
Allies: The Guardians of the Accord, The Elves of the Kingdom of Greenwater and the Dogmen of Daedala.
Physical Appearance: Huge, hulking, bear-like creatures. Their fur color is often indicative of their tribal affiliation, however, only Snow Shamans of Uwa have pure white fur and only during the time they serve her. Period.
Size: 8-13 feet tall; 7 + 1D6 ft.
Weight: 1100 – 1400 pounds; 1000 + 1D4 X 100 pounds.
