The holy book is the Book of Avesta, containing parables, words of the wise elders, and the myths of the gods. It is one of the most common books on the planet. For being that popular what can one say about the arguably most powerful church in all of Regnum? The Church of Dualism runs villages, towns, cities, and even some kingdoms. Its main base of operations is located on the north of the Galvan Republic in the city of Avestein.

The main chapel located at the holy city of Avestein.

The Devan, or head, of the church, Franz Rhinefelder is stationed here, as well as most of the high ranking officials. All of the other clergy use the title “Behdin” before their name and there’s no distinction between male or female members of the faith. It should also be noted that their is no stigma with holding a position of temporal power alongside being a member of the Behdin.

There is also the infamous “Towers of Silence” in every country the faith has a presence where the dead are taken to be disposed of via ritual to prevent plague.

The Church of Dualism believes water and fire are agents of ritual purity, and the associated purification ceremonies are considered the basis of ritual life. In Dualist cosmogony, water and fire are respectively the second and last primordial elements to have been created, and Avesta scripture considers fire to have its origin in the waters. Both water and fire are considered life-sustaining, and both water and fire are represented within the precinct of a fire temple. Dualists usually pray in the presence of some form of fire (which can be considered evident in any source of light), and the culminating rite of the principle act of worship constitutes a “strengthening of the waters”. Fire is considered a medium through which spiritual insight and wisdom is gained, and water is considered the source of that wisdom.

Membership is allowed to all, and members are allowed, but not encouraged, to worship other deities. The significant, worldwide, holidays are given in the Regnum Calendar. Of course, as with all religions, other holidays and celebrations, local in nature, are too common to list.
