Bumi

Description:

Bumi ~ The Stone Dancer ~

Bumi is a raven haired human from the Fikir Tayfa, in the Barrens. He is an average, albeit gorgeous, teenage boy, and is on a quest to see the world. He is running from something, though he never talks about it. He is 5’ 8", and a light, but strong 120lbs. He keeps his hair cut short, never letting it grow to cover his ears, almost neurotically. His fashion sense and modesty has been something of a source of ridicule, as his clothes are well tailored, and he pays close attention to his cleanliness, perfumed clean clothing, and hygiene, and that he bathes as often as possible, keeping a dust storm between him and any onlookers. Whenever insulted, he laughs nonchalantly, and sets a hailstorm of stones on you in the middle of the night.
He had some kind of military training in his past, but isn’t a master of arms. He is regularly seen staring into crystals and gems, and prays holding strange crystal beaded chain, like an earthen rosary. When he uses his earth magic, he dances as if it were a royal ball, and he were courting the sand and stones. He disappears from time to time, even from his travelling companions, but whenever he is around he has his dwarven battle axe in hand and his hijab ready to pull to his face. He tells anyone that asks about it that if he doesn’t have his hijab with him or his battle axe, it means that “everyone around [him] is already dead, so there is no more need for them.” After which he laughs nervously.

2D4x10 damage. Those inside a building will take 2D4x10 damage from falling debris. People and animals outside, away from most falling debris, suffer only 2D6 damage, but the moving earth inflicts the following penalties: Reduce speed, skill performance, combat bonuses and attacks/actions per melee round by half.
The fissure will run 60 feet (18.3 m) long per level of the warlock, inflicting its incredible destruction to everything in its path. The warlock can control the exact length and width of the quake.

Bio:

~ Bio ~

Civil Death.

When one is moved into a lower caste, it symbolizes a burial and subsequent death of the higher self. When this happens, parts of self, civil liberties, and rights are deprived, by society and by self.

I suffered a Civil Death.

On his eighth Crysta my father, Aadi, became Aadarsh, meaning “Ideal,” suggested to him by his Mother, and chosen by him. On the first day of his vocation he became who he is now, though I am not going to write his name here.. He married Chaaya, my mother, on the the eighth day of his vocation. Chaaya was born Chahna, became Chaitra on her Red Moon, and Chaaya wedding day.

I was born to them on their sixth Crysta, and was named Abha. I became Bhoomi on my eighth Crysta, though since my career is now Ambassador I suffered a Civil Death, being disowned by my family, and subsequently entering the caste of the lowly, one caste above the unclean, but many below my brothers and sisters. My new station didn’t allow me to choose my adult name, so I changed the spelling for ease of foreign tongues, the most that I could do.

My eldest sister will marry my eldest brother leaving me, the thirdchild, forced to forge my own path. This sounds barbaric to outsiders, I hear, but I do not know why. Especially since the son will be the perfect successor of the father, and the daughter will be the perfect support to him, both raised in the business and poised to keep the family secrets. The disdain may be because there is danger of physical deformities, or mental deficiencies – as occurred with me – but with the marvels of Tayfan technologies we are able to cure the worst of which in-utero.

I was given my battle-axe as a going-away gift from my father, just before he disowned me.
