Path of the Avadanti
PATH OF THE AVADANTI
The Avadanti were a sect of humans that had philosophical differences with their society 50,000 years ago. They were banished for cherishing all life and headed west leaving behind what would become known as the isolationist Galvan Republic. They settled in the lands known today as Fikir Tayfa or the Barrens. Then they just disappeared with no sign or trace though they were swallowed by the desert.
Many scholars disagree for the Avadanti re-appeared in the land known as Berkay some 30,000 years ago they brought with them the Upadishas Texts which is the most pervasive collection of stories about the ancient times of when the Divine Triad, Ahura Mazda, Uwa and all of their peoples help break the hold of the Chaos Lords.
ORIGINS OF AVADANTISM
It has never been confirmed if Avadan was an avatar of Vishnu the Preserver. Many of the faithful still claim to see him today and there are tales of his exploits in every beast culture of Regnum. A consumate statesman, healer, warrior, wizard, teacher, and trickster. It is claimed the culture of Berkay and it’s people came from one of his wives. The faithful followers of Avadan believe honesty in all things and practice it daily leading to the phrase used by foreigners “Blunt like Berkay.” Over time the followers became known as the Avadanti and the religion Avadantism or the Path of the Avadanti.
THE FAITHFUL AND THE PATHS OF AVADANTISM
Vandit is the name for a holy man or women that adheres and follows the path either the Gods or the Asuras. In ‘Shikhara’ or ‘Temples’ dedicated to one of the Asuras will often be in secluded locations of the western lands and hidden from prying eyes. Many of the worlds assassins find themselves trained by these shadow groups to promote absolute darkness or emptiness that will free the Asuras from their confines and a new age to encompass all. In ‘Shikhara’ or ‘Temples’ dedicated to the Gods can be easily found in the western lands and beginning to spread into the eastern nations, albeit slowly. Two among the Gods have a higher worship on this world than many others: Garuda and Tvashtri. Garuda is worshiped almost exclusively by the Arudanni bird-men and the Dwarves have gravitated to Tvashtri as rune magic is a major source of power for the Dwarven Empire.
There are only two paths in Avadantism:
THE GODS OF AVADANTI
THE ASURAS OF AVADANTI
